Cowboy Boot Favor Bags!

To make these you are going to need the following items:
1. Brown Paper Bags - ( I bought mine at Walmart for like $2)
2. Twine - (Walmart $3)
3. Clothes Pins (Walmart - pack of 50 for $1 - found mine in the "home improvement" section rather than the craft section for half the price - same thing)
4. Brown,Gold, and White Card Stock - ( had on hand, probably bought it at Michaels)
5. Bandana Image that I printed off of a website, that I can no longer find :(
6. Scissors
7. Glue

To start I sketched out a boot shape on a paper bag. I cut it out. Now I had a template to use. If you are not good at sketching, there are hundreds of templates on the Internet, Just google "boot template" and a ton will come up.

Now that the template is made, its as simple as tracing and cutting out. Just place your template in a paper bag and cut it out. Each paper bag will make 2 boots. I drew the sole of the boot, the heel but that is just an extra step.. it looks good without it too.

Now glue the boot to the paper bag. I used a glue stick but any glue will work.

Now that the bag is done. I started working on the bandana clothes pins.

I printed out the image. Cut the edge and adhered it to the clothes pin. Very Simple!

To make the spur, I used the gold card stock. Cut a 1'' x 6'' strip. I cut a notch about on inch from the right side. I found a Star template and cut it out for the spiky part. Not exactly the right name but you know what I am talking about.
For the label. I used my Cricut to cut out the brown tags, If you do not have one, you can but pre-made tags from Michaels or any craft store. I made a label from word and clued it to the tag.

Once all complete. I folded my bag over once, wrapped twine around and and clipped the tag on the bag with the bandana clothes pin.

Hope that this give you an idea on how to make these or if anything; inspiration for ideas of your own.
Have a great day!

Cowboy Birthday Decorations - Happy Birthday Banner

All of the decorations for my sons birthday I made myself... from the invitations, banners, favors bags to the game. The inspiration for his party is Woody from Toy Story. For the happy birthday banner, I tried to replicate Woody's attire. From the bandanna around his neck to his checkered shirt, the jeans he wore, and his cow print vest.

I've seen on a couple other blogs, a variation of this. For the "bandanna" I found a bandanna image, printed it out and glued it to white card stock. For the "shirt" I used a yellow sheet of card stock and cut out maroon strips and attached them on the sheet to make a checkered pattern. The "blue jeans" I wanted to make look like stitching around the edges so I used twine. I punched holes around the perimeter of the paper and fed the twine through. And finally the cow print. I could have went to Michael's and purchased cow printed paper but I thought it would be more fun for me to make it myself. There was two ways that I could have made the cow print. The first I cut our black swirly pieces and glue them on the white paper with no particular pattern and second you could draw them with a black permanent marker. I chose drawling them on. I just like the look better. It is your own preference. For the lettering, I used my Cricut to cut them out. I first cut out the letters in black and then cut and placed the white letters on top to give an added dimension. If you don't have the Cricut you can get letters from any craft store. I will also add twine to the back to hang it with. .

I have lots more to post about.. the inviations, favor bags, games, and lots more decorations!!!!!
In the words of good ol' Woody. Hope you had a rootin'tootin time!
